"We're new to town and read the reviews for Dr Price and decided to Windmill a go. So happy we did! Their whole office from the front desk to the treatment and meeting Dr Price was 5 Star all the way! I know our babies will be well taken care of! I even had a technician help me out to the car which made my day as I had my hands FULL! Would recommend to anyone! "

"This is the best vet in Abilene! I have tried countless other veterinary clinics and Windmill out-does them all. They value my pet and my experience more than my money, and they are always showing care and compassion to both my dog and me. They even call after every appointment, just to check-up and make sure we're doing okay! AMAZING service and incredible people!"

Dental Xrays

back to services

One of the dilemmas veterinarians frequently run into is, during the dental cleaning process for our canine and feline patients, how do we tell if a suspicious tooth needs to be extracted or not?

The problem is that if we leave a tooth that needs to go, then the pet will needlessly have chronic pain and recurrent infection.

On the other hand, if we remove a tooth that was still viable, we have adversely affected the pet's ability to eat or play with his toys.  What's a veterinarian to do?

This is where human dental care and veterinary dental care meet:  dental xrays!

Our Dental Xray unit can reval the hidden problems and periodontal disease your pet is suffering from (but can't tell you about).  Dental xrays will sort out problem teeth that can be saved, versus problem teeth that need to go.  Almost as important, dental xrays reveal if any bits and pieces of an extracted tooth have been left behind, which could cause chronic pain for your pet.

Since our dental xray unit is digital, we can see the image within seconds of taking the xray, so your pet's anesthesia won't be significantly extended.  We'll also put the images on a CD for you, to go home with you when you pick up your pet after the dental cleaning procedure.

Does your pet have foul breath?  Does he drool, spill food, no longer play with his toys?  Schedule an appointment with us today, and let us evaluate his dental health.  We are passionately dedicated to helping him be as comfortable and happy as possible, and our dental xray unit is a BIG part of that process!
