At what age can I have my cat declawed?
Cats can be declawed as soon as they weigh at least three pounds, which is usually around 3 months of age. Also, they should receive at least two sets of kittenhood vaccinations, and tested free of internal parasites and the deadly viruses Feline Leukemia and Feline A.I.D.S. before the declaw procedure. If you are planning on spaying or neutering your cat, we recommend the declaw surgery be combined with the spay/neuter surgery, generally when the pet is 16-20 weeks old. Combining the procedures reduces the number of times your cat is anesthetized, as well as saving you some expense.
