My dog is scratching all the time; what can I do?

Itching, chewing & scratching can be a sign of many skin problems, from parasites such as fleas or mange, to allergies, to skin infections.  Furthermore, the scratching pet is miserable, and cannot properly sleep, eat, play or relax when he's craving a good scratch every waking moment!  We've all had pets who woke us up in the middle of the night from their scratching--their scratching is wearing us out too!  If your pet scratches, especially to the point of causing skin damage, you should consult one of our veterinarians to help determine the appropriate course of action.
