Do pets have cholesterol problems like we do?

Dogs and cats can have elevated cholesterol from thyroid problems or liver disease, but our pets do NOT get the plaque build-up in their arteries from high cholesterol, like we do. Consequently, heart disease and stroke from atherosclerosis are not significant problems in cats and dogs.
