"We're new to town and read the reviews for Dr Price and decided to Windmill a go. So happy we did! Their whole office from the front desk to the treatment and meeting Dr Price was 5 Star all the way! I know our babies will be well taken care of! I even had a technician help me out to the car which made my day as I had my hands FULL! Would recommend to anyone! "

"This is the best vet in Abilene! I have tried countless other veterinary clinics and Windmill out-does them all. They value my pet and my experience more than my money, and they are always showing care and compassion to both my dog and me. They even call after every appointment, just to check-up and make sure we're doing okay! AMAZING service and incredible people!"

Are you a breeder of show or performance dogs?  Do you have a cattery full of prize-winners?  Or do you just have a very special dog that you'd like puppies out of?  Whatever the case, the doctors of Windmill Animal Hospital have the knowledge and expertise to assist you with your dog or cat reproductive needs.

Dr. Janice Price, the Practice Director of Windmill Animal Hospital, has bred and shown Champion Norwegian Elkhounds since 1978.  She added showing and field-trialing German Shorthaired Pointers to her kennel in 1998.  With more than 40 Champions to her credit, Dr. Price is very experienced with performing diagnostic vaginal cytology and progesterone assays to assure correct timing for a breeding.  If either member of the breeding pair isn't in the mood to cooperate, Dr. Price can get the breeding done via artificial insemination.

Want to use a stud in another state?  No worries, Dr. Price is equally comfortable with artificial inseminations using chilled, extended semen.  For those of our clients who have stud dogs that are in demand, we can also collect and extend semen for Fedex overnight shipment.

The most common reproductive service needed for dogs or cats is surgical intervention due to actual or anticipated difficulties in labor:  cesarean section.  The primary concern should ALWAYS be the health and safety of the dam, with every effort made to save all the puppies or kittens.   Good professional judgment, careful anesthetic protocol, surgical expertise,  and cutting-edge technology are all equally needed in these situations to assure the safety of the dam as well as the puppies or kittens.   With more than 27 years' experience, Dr. Price has performed successful cesareans on a wide variety of breeds of dogs and cats, including Bulldogs, Maltese, Pugs, Persians, Himalayans, and other high-risk breeds.

If you are contemplating breeding your dog or cat, call today for more information on what is needed for a healthy litter, and what to watch out for.
